wondr BrightUp Cup 2025: Jojo-Ginting Invites Audience to Play
Jakarta. The recent wondr BrightUp Cup 2025 hosted by the state-owned bank BNI had a pleasant surprise.
Two national badminton players, Jonatan "Jojo" Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, invited two people from the audience to join them on court on Friday. When they invited Nadin and A'la, the crowd erupted in cheers.
The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) chair Muhammad Fadil Imran, as well as PBSI's deputy chair and Deputy Sports Minister Taufik Hidayat, were also in the crowd to witness the unexpected combo. BNI's network and retail funding director, Rian Kasla,n as well as the bank's human capital and compliance director Munadi Herlambang were also present.
"This interaction [between the athletes and the spectators] provides new energy to the world of sporting entertainment and demonstrates how sport can be a bridge to build close relationships," Rian was quoted as saying in a press statement.
Badminton legends Hendra Setiawan and Marcus Gideon also joined the championship. Young talents such as Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin, the winners of the 2025 Australian Open Men's Doubles title, also showcased the immense potential of Indonesia's next generation of badminton players.
The wondr BrightUp Cup 2025 also featured cross-sport collaborations. Basketball athletes Daniel Wenas and Kelly Purwanto, as well as footballers Andritany Ardhiyasa and Witan Sulaeman, participated in an exhibition format/
"We want to ensure that every wondr BrightUp Cup event is not only entertainment, but also a platform for inspiration for the younger generation," Rian said.
The wondr BrightUp Cup 2025 aims to be a sports entertainment festival that unites athletes, fans, and creatives on one inclusive stage.
