Rempang Eco-City: Construction of Four Model Homes Enter Final Stage
Jakarta. The four model houses for people affected by the Rempang Eco-City development project are entering their final stage.
BP Batam’s spokesperson Ariastuty Sirait said that the construction was almost 100-percent complete. The construction of these model houses, which lie in Tanjung Banon, also has not had any major issues.
“I think the [model houses] will finish by this week,” Ariastuty, also known as Tuty, was quoted as saying in a recent press statement, while adding that its construction shows the government’s commitment to provide a comfortable home for the Rempang locals.
“We are aiming to have 100 houses in Tanjung Banon by September. The next round of construction has already entered the tender stage. We are now waiting for the construction to start because we already have the funds,” Tuty said.
BP Batam head Muhammad Rudi has instructed the development agency to always uphold the people’s rights. BP Batam, along with a team focusing on managing the social impact, involves everyone on the policy-making. BP Batam has also invited academicians, Melayu public figures, and representatives from the impacted communities to their meetings on the project, according to Tuty.
