Jakarta. State construction firm PTPP, under the sovereign wealth fund Danantara, has mobilized emergency teams and heavy equipment to help restore critical infrastructure following hydrometeorological disasters that hit Aceh and North Sumatra.

The company said it has focused its response on public safety and the rapid restoration of vital access routes. Since the first day of the disaster, more than 46 field personnel have been deployed, supported by excavators, bulldozers, a 60-ton crane, dump trucks, and chainsaws, allowing works to proceed simultaneously at the worst-hit locations in both provinces.

Infrastructure damage in Aceh was described as widespread and complex. Along the 103-kilometer Bireuen–Bener Meriah–Takengon corridor, access was cut off following the collapse of Teupin Mane Bridge and damage to several others, including Enang-Enang, Weihni Rongka, Weihni Rongka II, Jamur Ujung, and Alue Kulus bridges. Major landslides were also recorded at several points, including STA 15+700, 19+800, 22+100, and 49+000.

PTPP completed the installation of a Bailey bridge to replace the damaged Teupin Mane Bridge within 12 days. The temporary bridge has restored a key link connecting Bireuen with Bener Meriah, Takengon, and central Aceh, a vital route for the movement of people and goods, including vegetable and fruit produce. The corridor is also part of the main land route linking Medan in North Sumatra with Banda Aceh in Aceh, making its reopening critical for interprovincial connectivity.

On the Aceh Tamiang–Medan main road, two landslide sites spanning a total of about 405 meters were handled through excavation, debris clearance, and the construction of temporary lanes. PTPP said the route has gradually reopened to two-way traffic between Dec. 5 and Dec. 15, 2025.

In North Sumatra, response efforts have focused on several strategic corridors, including the Aceh border–Saragih–Manduamas–Barus route, Sibolga–Barus, Tarutung–Sipirok, and Padang Sidempuan. A total of 11 landslide points and several damaged bridges were recorded, including Aek Sibundong Bridge, a key interregional access point.

Cleanup, excavation, embankment works, road surface restoration, and slope protection are ongoing to ensure stable and safe connectivity for residents and logistics vehicles. Significant progress has been reported at locations such as STA 12+400, STA 4+400, the Hajoran area, and along the Sibolga–Sorkam–Barus corridor, supported by parallel field operations.

PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo said the company’s response was driven by responsibility and empathy. “Infrastructure is not just about roads and bridges. It is about access for people to return home, go to school, earn a living, and receive aid. That is why our teams are working continuously on the ground to ensure key routes can function safely again,” Joko said.

The emergency response and recovery efforts are part of PTPP’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility program. Through the initiative, the company aims to help restore essential access, from evacuation routes and logistics distribution to the safe resumption of daily mobility.

“We believe infrastructure recovery is the foundation for communities to rise and move forward again. PTPP will continue to be present, working and supporting the recovery process until it is completed,” Joko added.
