Prabowo Apologizes to His Rivals in Debate Finale
Jakarta. Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto apologized to his rivals Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo as he wrapped up the debate finale on Sunday.
“We have engaged in fierce campaign rallies, marked by rivalries and strong words over the past few months. However, there is goodwill behind this, and I believe all three candidates simply want the best for Indonesia," Prabowo said.
“On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran and the Onward Indonesia coalition, I would like to apologize to Anies-Muhaimin as well as Ganjar-Mahfud for words or any conduct that may be unpleasant. We sincerely would like to apologize,” Prabowo said.
Prabowo called for the need to make sure that all Indonesians, including the leaders, remain united. Prabowo even said he considered his rivals and their running mates as “my very own brothers”.
“We will fight for the sake of Indonesians, and our love for the Indonesian people,” Prabowo said.
Prabowo then thanked all past presidents, even calling them “Indonesia’s best sons and daughter.”
Prabowo said that he would be the president for all Indonesians --including those who did not vote for him-- should he win the election. He also vowed to eradicate poverty, hunger, corruption, and malnutrition in Indonesia.
“I will fight for the sake of all Indonesians,” Prabowo said.
