Jakarta. PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) has officially inaugurated the Lebak Bulus MRT Station – Bank Syariah Indonesia, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the development of modern public transportation while expanding sharia financial inclusion and literacy in Indonesia.

The station naming inauguration is the result of a strategic collaboration between Bank Syariah Indonesia and PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda). The partnership underscores BSI’s active role in promoting sustainable development, urban mobility, and the strengthening of the national sharia economic ecosystem.

BSI President Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo said that having the BSI name on one of Jakarta MRT’s strategic stations symbolizes the integration between sharia banking services and the activities of modern urban society.

“The naming of Lebak Bulus MRT Station – Bank Syariah Indonesia is a strategic step for us to be closer to the public. BSI aims to be present in public spaces as a financial partner offering inclusive, modern, and sustainable sharia financial solutions,” he said.

Lebak Bulus MRT Station – Bank Syariah Indonesia is one of the starting points of MRT Jakarta’s operations, with high passenger volume and a crucial role as a transportation hub and a center of economic activity.

Through this collaboration, BSI will introduce various initiatives for sharia financial literacy, digital service promotion, education on bullion bank services, and enhanced sharia-based cashless transactions within the MRT environment.

As Indonesia’s largest sharia bank and one of the Top 10 Global Islamic Banks by market capitalization, BSI hopes that with around 110,000 MRT users daily, its presence will further strengthen its tagline as a financial, social, and spiritual partner for the public.

On this occasion, BSI also introduced its bullion bank services and invited the public to enjoy a superior experience through its gold products and services, including BSI Emas, BSI Cicil Emas, and BSI Gadai Emas under the #LangkahEmasBSI program.

With stronger branding and closer proximity to the community, it is expected that sharia banking inclusion will continue to grow. Through its presence at MRT stations, BSI can introduce inclusive products and services, including bullion bank (gold banking) services. A bullion bank provides access to gold products starting from Rp50,000 through the BYOND by BSI mobile app.

PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) President Director Tuhiyat welcomed the collaboration as part of efforts to optimize non-farebox assets and improve services for MRT passengers. “This station-naming partnership not only provides added value for MRT Jakarta but also strengthens the synergy between public transportation and the rapidly expanding sharia finance sector,” he said.

Going forward, Bank Syariah Indonesia is committed to further expanding strategic collaborations with various partners to support inclusive, sustainable, and sharia-based national economic growth.

BSI currently manages more than 22 million customers from all segments of society. It continues to target millennial and Gen Z customers. Through its gold-based products, BSI has increased its non-Muslim customer base to around 15 percent. “We continue accelerating BSI services so they can be accepted by all groups,” said Anggoro Eko Cahyo.

BSI is committed to implementing and encouraging the public to adopt ESG principles aligned with maqashid sharia values, including Hifdz Al-Bi’ah (environmental preservation), and aligned with the government’s Asta Cita agenda and Sustainable Development Goal No. 11: building sustainable cities and communities. This commitment includes supporting easier access to public transportation such as the MRT.

Through this initiative, BSI and MRT Jakarta are encouraging the public to actively use public transportation to reduce emissions and protect the environment.
