Jakarta. Indonesia’s booming creative sectors, from animation and gaming to music and design, are prompting the Jakarta Creative Economy Committee, in collaboration with AIPI (the Indonesian Creative IP Association) and fully supported by the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office, to launch the Jakarta IP Market (JIPM) 2025, a new platform aimed at connecting intellectual property owners with businesses and investors. The two-day event will run on 18–19 November 2025 at Hotel Grand Sahid Jaya, Sudirman, Jakarta.

Carrying the tagline “License. Deal. Distribute.”, Jakarta IP Market will feature 28 exhibitors and 100 IPs. Designed as a curated business-to-business (B2B) marketplace, the event will bring together copyright and trademark holders, producers, distributors, and investors to network, build partnerships, and generate new economic value from Indonesia’s intellectual creations. JIPM stems from the vision of strengthening Jakarta’s position as a Southeast Asian hub for IP business, marking a concrete step in developing a professional, transparent, and sustainable ecosystem for the national creative industry.

Mochtar Sarman, Chairman of Jakarta IP Market, said that many Indonesian creators have strong and promising IPs but still lack access to the right markets or commercial partners. “Jakarta IP Market is here to bridge that gap. Through this forum, participants will gain opportunities for scheduled business meetings, exchange ideas with global practitioners, and learn about evolving licensing trends across countries.”

JIPM 2025 will present a lineup of international speakers and practitioners from various entertainment and global licensing sectors. Among them are Ikuko Kogiso (Creative Minds Japan), Allen Au Yeung (former Creative Director at Disney), Anjan Baxi (Paramount Consumer Products), and representatives from SEGA Asia Pacific, Moonbug Entertainment, and Crayola Asia Pacific.

The event will also feature prominent Indonesian creative figures such as Angga Sasongko (Visinema), Shanty Harmayn (BASE Entertainment), Faza Meonk (Pionicon), and Nurfadli Mursyid (Mindblowon Studio). This cross-sector and cross-generational collaboration is expected to showcase the growing strength and competitiveness of Indonesia’s creative ecosystem.

Mochtar Sarman added that the presence of international practitioners is part of an effort to provide global networking opportunities for local IP players. “Their participation will broaden attendees’ insights into global licensing trends, cross-market IP expansion strategies, and best practices in managing intellectual assets.”

Ricky Pesik, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Jakarta Creative Economy Committee, said that during its two-day program, JIPM 2025 will deliver a curated experience through several key zones. “The Exhibition Hall will take center stage, showcasing a diverse range of local and international IPs from animation studios, comic artists, game developers, and licensing companies, bringing creative richness directly to visitors. This allows IP owners and potential licensees to discuss business opportunities in greater depth.”

Visitors can further expand their knowledge by attending sessions at the Conference Stage, where experts will discuss industry trends, policy developments, and IP management and licensing strategies. To conclude the event, JIPM 2025 will host a Networking Night, an evening designed to foster a relaxed yet productive atmosphere, opening opportunities for informal collaboration and business deals.

Building the Future of Indonesia’s Creative Industry
Jakarta IP Market is not merely an industry event but part of the Jakarta Creative Economy Committee’s long-term strategy to build a competitive, export-oriented licensing ecosystem. By bringing ideas, ownership, and capital into one organized space, the event aims to pave the way for increasing the economic value of Indonesian creative works.

“We want to show that intellectual property is not just about ideas, it is about economic value that can grow when managed properly,” Ricky Pesik said.

With strong support from the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office, industry associations, and the private sector, Jakarta IP Market is expected to become an annual, sustainable event that strengthens Indonesia’s position in the global creative industry value chain.
