Jakarta Governor Launches New Persija Kit, Announces Major Sponsorship Boost
Jakarta. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung on Saturday officially launched the new 2025/2026 season kit for Persija Jakarta and announced sponsorship support from four city-owned enterprises (BUMDs), reaffirming the capital’s commitment to elevating the club’s status in Indonesian football.
Speaking at a launch event held at Jakarta International Stadium in Ancol, North Jakarta, Pramono said the new kit symbolizes a fresh spirit and Persija’s readiness to compete in the upcoming Indonesian Super League season.
“This is more than a jersey launch -- it’s a statement of support and pride. Four BUMDs have signed on as official sponsors, and another one is on the way. Their logos are now featured on the new kits,” Pramono said, naming the sponsors as Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, Bank Jakarta, and PAM JAYA.
Pramono stressed that Persija is not only a football club but also a symbol of Jakarta’s identity as a global city, with the team playing a growing role in the city's sports tourism sector.
As the city looks ahead to Persija’s centennial anniversary in 2028, the club must aim for top honors in national football, he added.
The governor also called on the team’s passionate supporters, Jakmania, to continue backing Persija throughout the season.
“For the 2025/2026 season, I hope Persija will emerge as champions. The city government is offering its full support, and today marks a concrete step with formal sponsorship agreements signed with our regional enterprises,” he said.
After the launch, Pramono and Deputy Governor Rano Karno attended a friendly match between Persija and Arema at the same venue, joined by thousands of Jakmania fans. Persija delivered a convincing performance, winning 3–0 with goals from Eksel Runtukahu (2) and Gustavo Franca (1).
The match served as an early tune-up for the new season, with fans and city officials alike rallying behind the team’s renewed ambition.
