From Aceh, BSI CEO Leads Year-End Prayer as Bank Caps a Resilient 2025
Banda Aceh. Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) closed 2025 on a solemn and reflective note, with a year-end prayer led directly from Aceh by President Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo, alongside humanitarian efforts for communities affected by natural disasters.
Anggoro’s presence in Aceh symbolized BSI’s belief that banking performance is measured not only by financial results, but also by tangible engagement with society. During his visit, he confirmed that all BSI operations in disaster-affected areas had been fully restored and were operating at 100% capacity, ensuring uninterrupted services for customers entering the new year.
The year 2025 proved both challenging and defining for BSI. The bank demonstrated its ability to turn adversity into momentum, as reflected in strong financial performance through the third quarter of 2025, reinforcing the robustness of its business fundamentals.
“BSI ends this year with deep gratitude. Amid global and domestic uncertainty, we continued to grow solidly. This reflects the resilience of Islamic banking, supported by a strong ecosystem,” Anggoro said.
As of September 2025, BSI recorded a 9.04% year-on-year increase in net profit to Rp 5.57 trillion ($333.5 million). This growth was supported by healthy financing expansion of 12.65% to Rp 301 trillion, as well as third-party funds that rose 15.65% to Rp 348.38 trillion ($20.58 billion). Asset quality remained sound, with a gross non-performing financing ratio of 1.84%, underscoring the bank’s prudent risk management.
Beyond financial metrics, 2025 marked a milestone year as BSI was officially designated Indonesia’s first bullion bank. The achievement strengthened BSI’s role as a driver of Islamic finance transformation, offering integrated gold services while contributing to national economic resilience.
Anggoro described BSI’s “double power” as both the country’s first bullion bank and its largest Islamic lender.
“In Aceh, we are reminded of the true essence of Islamic banking. Success is not defined by profit alone, but by the meaning and benefits we deliver to others, especially when our fellow citizens are in need. This is the true spirit of BSI,” he said.
The year-end reflection serves as a foundation for BSI’s journey into 2026. Carrying the new spirit of ‘Empathy in Service, Enthusiasm from the Heart’, the bank aims to deliver more responsive services with long-term value and broader social impact.
“2026 will be a phase where BSI connects more deeply with customers. We aspire to be not just a bank, but a financial, social, and spiritual partner that provides comprehensive solutions for the community and the nation,” Anggoro said.
The year-end prayer was attended by BSI employees nationwide through a hybrid format, reflecting collective gratitude for the year’s efforts and shared hopes for blessings in the year ahead.
