BNI Congratulates Alwi Farhan for 2026 Indonesia Masters Win
Jakarta. State-owned bank BNI congratulated Alwi Farhan for winning the men's singles title at the 2026 Indonesia Masters over the weekend.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that his victory reflected how the athlete development process by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) was a success. BNI has partnered with PBSI for over five years to generate world-class badminton athletes. During that time, the bank has backed the regeneration of athletes and the national training program.
"Alwi Farhan's success in winning the 2026 Indonesia Masters demonstrates that PBSI's long-term development efforts are effective and capable of producing young athletes with high levels of competitiveness at the world level," Okki was quoted as saying in a press statement.
Alwi Farhan was born in Surakarta on May 12, 2005. He has been pursuing a career from an early age. At just 20 years old, Alwi demonstrates outstanding game maturity and great potential to compete at the elite level.
Playing in the men's singles event, Alwi is known for his solid playing style, combining aggression with calm tempo control. He has been actively participating in international tournaments since 2017 and won the YONEX Korea Junior Badminton Championships U-13 title.
In 2019, Alwi also claimed victory at the BWF Junior International Grand Prix at the Jaya Raya Junior International U-15 event, defeating an Indian athlete. One of his greatest achievements was winning the men's singles title at the 2023 BWF World Junior Championships, which served as a crucial stepping stone to the senior level.
"BNI hopes that Alwi Farhan's achievements can inspire other young athletes to continue their progress, achieve, and bring honor to Indonesia on the international stage," Okki said.
Okki went on to say that this athlete development aligns with BNI's efforts to achieve a high-quality generation that is able to make the country proud.
