Jakarta. Hydropower plant company Arkora Hydro (ARKO) announced Friday that its net profit had grown by 20 percent year-on-year (yoy) to Rp 36.9 billion ($2.3 million) in the first half of 2025.

According to a press release, the company had booked an operating revenue of Rp 142.5 billion, up by 42.1 percent yoy. ARKO attributed the growth to human capital development, which had helped electricity production to be more effective and efficient. ARKO reported that it managed to produce 74.3 gigawatt hours (GWh) of power in the first half of 2025, all coming from the Cikopo, Tomasa, and Yaentu projects. Electricity production also surged 48.9 percent yoy, thanks to the Yaentu Project, which had only begun operating in the fourth quarter of 2024.

This led to a 20 percent yoy net profit growth. The company also posted a profit margin of 25.9 percent in the first half of 2025.

Total assets reached Rp 1,495.2 billion, up by 19.7 percent yoy -- something that ARKO attributed to its cash growth, which had soared by 83.1 percent yoy.

ARKO's total liabilities grew to Rp 1,006.9 billion, an increase of 27 percent yoy. Short-term liabilities had dropped 32.5 percent yoy, while the long-term liabilities surged 35.4 percent yoy. Total equity also grew by 6.9 percent yoy to Rp 488.3 billion through the first half of 2025.

ARKO also managed to speed up the construction of its power plants, namely the Kukusan II Project (5.4 MW) in Lampung and the Tomoni Project (10 MW) in South Sulawesi, both reaching 83.2 percent and 32.9 percent, respectively.

ARKO will be able to reduce its emissions by more or less 99,937 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year after the two aforementioned projects begin operating. This will eventually help Indonesia achieve its net-zero emission by 2060 or sooner.

According to ARKO's president director Aldo Artoko, the increase in power plant projects can lead to a rise in the cash flow from PLN. Going forward, ARKO will remain committed to maintain healthy financial performance growth, while expanding the power plant capacity, which has now reached 261.2 megawatts (MW) in the project pipeline.

"With more power plant projects being completed, we are optimistic that we can continue to fulfill our commitment to lighting up Indonesia based on clean energy and running a sustainable business," Aldo said.
