Underdog Candidate Ganjar Pranowo Surrenders to Fate, Awaits Election Outcome

Semarang. Presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo exercised his voting rights in the 2024 elections at Polling Station 11 in Lempongsari Subdistrict, Semarang City, Central Java on Wednesday.

"In situations like this, we must submit oneself," he said.

Based on a recent survey conducted by the research and consulting firm Indikator Politik Indonesia, Ganjar and his running mate Mohammad Mahfud MD are considered underdogs in the election, holding an electability of 21.1 percent. They trail behind Prabowo Subianto with 51.8 percent and Anies Baswedan with 24.1 percent.

Ganjar was also accompanied by Arsjad Rasjid, the chairman of the Ganjar-Mahfud Campaign Team, and Hendrar Prihadi, the chairman of the PDIP Semarang City.

According to Ganjar, after casting their votes, they plan to head to Jakarta. "We plan to visit Megawati (PDIP chairwoman)," he added.

On Wednesday, more than 200 million Indonesian people will cast their votes in the presidential election, as well as the election of members of regional legislative councils (DPRD) at the district/city and provincial levels, the national legislative council (DPR), and the regional representative council (DPD).
