Regions Told to Sync Development with Indonesia’s Long-Term Vision
Jakarta. Regional development must align with the government’s annual work plan (RKP), the 2025–2029 medium-term development plan (RPJMN), and the 2025–2045 long-term development plan (RPJPN), Deputy Attorney General for Civil and State Administration Narendra Jatna said on Wednesday.
Speaking before regional leaders at the Beritasatu Regional Forum 2025, themed 'Empowering Regions, From Local to Global,' Narendra stressed that local governments and regional-owned enterprises are key pillars of national development, carrying a strategic mandate to keep local initiatives in line with the country’s long-term vision.
“We must get used to carrying out regional development not merely on good intentions, but in line with the RPJPN, RPJMN, and the annual RKP,” Narendra said at the event hosted by B-Universe at Hotel Mulia, Jakarta.
He noted that these planning documents should serve both as guidance and inspiration, giving regions room to innovate while ensuring clarity of direction.
“It’s not about limiting creativity, it’s about giving it a clear path. What local governments do should remain in line with national development goals. That’s my message,” he said.
Narendra also urged stronger collaboration among regional administrations to achieve shared targets, highlighting the RPJPN’s overarching ambition.
“We must move together toward our collective success, especially under the RPJPN tagline of achieving a Golden Indonesia by 2045,” he said.
