Four Killed in Fiery Tesla Crash in France, Investigation Underway
Paris. Four people died in a car crash in France after their Tesla reportedly hit a road sign and caught fire, police said Monday.
A local police spokesman, Lt. Eric Hoarau, said that the exact circumstances of the crash, which occurred Saturday night near the city of Niort, were still under investigation.
"Everything suggests [the vehicle] came off the road," Hoarau said, citing marks on the ground and a severed road sign. He noted that there were no witnesses, complicating the investigation.
The driver and three passengers were burned beyond recognition, he added.
