Chinese Embassy Unveils Xi Jinping Governance Book in Indonesia
Jakarta. The Chinese Embassy in Indonesia launched the English-language edition of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume V) in Jakarta on Tuesday, describing the publication as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties amid evolving global dynamics.
Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Lutong said the book serves as an important guide for understanding China’s development direction and foreign policy in the modern era.
“This book offers new perspectives for people in Indonesia to better understand what China is like today. It has also become a key reference for many countries seeking to pursue their own modernization and enhance development capacity,” Wang said in his remarks.
He added that relations between Indonesia and China, which have been built over many years, carry significant strategic value at both regional and international levels.
According to Wang, interest among Indonesians in learning more about China continues to grow. He said the book launch could serve as an important platform to broaden understanding of developments in the country.
“This book is a new window for the Indonesian public to learn about policies and changes taking place in China. It also contains a collection of statements by President Xi Jinping that reflect the direction of policy and his leadership thinking,” he said.
Wang also encouraged Indonesians to read the book to deepen their understanding and open wider opportunities for future cooperation.
The launch event was attended by Ahmad Muzani, speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly, and Transmigration Minister Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara.
Muzani said China had succeeded in delivering broad-based and stable development over time through the leadership model and development policies implemented by Xi Jinping.
Indonesia, he said, could learn from China’s success in improving welfare for such a large population.
“This book illustrates how strategic decisions are made in development, including dilemmas between stability, growth, and equality. That is relevant for leaders and policymakers in Indonesia,” Muzani said.
He added that in many respects, Indonesia faces challenges similar to China’s, including a large population and broad cultural and linguistic diversity.
