China Masters 2025: Jonatan Christie Falls to China's Lin Chun-Yi
Jakarta. Taiwanese shuttler Lin Chun-Yi defeated Indonesia’s top player Jonatan Christie in the round of 16 of the China Masters 2025 on Thursday. Playing on Court 3 at Shenzhen Arena, Jonatan was under pressure throughout two tight games.
In the opening game, Jonatan fell heavily 5-21 to Lin despite two early ties, after which he continuously trailed and failed to catch up.
In the second game, Jonatan fought back and delivered a fierce challenge, but his efforts were not enough. He narrowly lost 20-22, sealing Lin’s victory.
It wasn’t just Jonatan who bowed out. Indonesia’s mixed doubles pair Jafar Hidayatullah and Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu also exited in the round of 16 after losing to Malaysia’s Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei 13-21, 21-13, 16-21.
