Depok/Subang. Witnesses, including a teacher, a student, and the bus driver, shared their accounts of the accident involving the Trans Putera Fajar bus in Subang, West Java, which claimed the lives of 11 people, including 10 students from the Lingga Kencana Vocational School in Depok, on Saturday.

Adawiah, a teacher accompanying the students, described how just before the accident, the road was dark. The bus, traveling at a high speed, suddenly swerved, causing panic among the students on board.

"The students were already shouting 'Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar' (God is great)," said Adawiah on Sunday.

Within seconds, the bus carrying the students overturned. As a result, 10 students and one motorcyclist lost their lives.

"The students were screaming, and shortly after, the bus suddenly flipped," Adawiah recounted.

According to Sadira, the driver of the Trans Putera Fajar bus, the bus's brakes failed. He had to swerve to the right to avoid hitting the vehicles in front.

"If I had continued straight, many cars would have been hit," Sadira said.

Moments before the accident, one of the students was live on TikTok. Suddenly, the bus experienced brake failure and the video briefly stopped. In the TikTok live video, the passengers can be heard crying hysterically and saying "Allahu Akbar."

"Oh my God, guys, we're having an accident, wait a moment," said the student in the video.

After the camera briefly stopped due to the fall, the student reappeared on the screen. "Wait, guys, the brakes failed," the student said, holding back tears.

The accident occurred when a bus carrying dozens of vocational school students overturned in Subang Regency, West Java, on Saturday evening.

A local hospital reported that 20 people are being treated for injuries, some of whom are in serious condition.

The bus was transporting 40 students from the Lingga Kencana Vocational School in Depok, West Java.

According to Subang Police spokesman Adjunct Comr. Yusman, the bus was traveling north in the hilly area of Ciater when it veered off the lane on a steep slope and collided with another car coming from the opposite direction.

The collision, which occurred around 6:45 p.m., caused the bus to overturn onto its right side. It continued to slide down the slope and collided with three motorcycles parked on the roadside before finally coming to a stop after hitting an electricity pole.
