Jakarta. A woman with a German passport has been sent to the psychiatric hospital after she was involved in several incidents including her stripping naked during a traditional Balinese dance show, the Bali Police said on Thursday.

Darja Tuschinski, 28, also allegedly left unpaid bills at several motels she had stayed in, police spokesman Chief Comr. Stefanus Satake Bayu told reporters in Denpasar.

"The foreigner identified by initials D.T. is depressed because she has no money to finance her stay in Bali," Stefanus said.

Tuschinski angered Indonesian internet users after photos and videos depicting her naked body in the middle of Balinese dancers performing at the sacred Saraswati Hindu Temple in Ubud on Monday went viral.

Before entering the stage, the woman was involved in an argument with the ticketing staff members but she forced her way in, took off her clothes, and joined the dancers, the officer said.

Security guards arrested Tuschinski and handed her to a local police station. 

Further investigation revealed that she had stayed at Ubud Bungalow in the last six days where she also caused trouble by walking naked around the guest areas.

Police took the woman to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport for her home flight but she returned to the motel and asked permission to stay at the lobby, arguing that she was waiting for her boyfriend.

She finally left the motel without her suitcases in the evening and was rearrested and taken to the Bangli Psychiatric Hospital.

Stefanus said the Saraswati Temple had conducted a “ceremony to purify” the worship place and won’t press charges against her.

The incident was one of many indecent behaviors committed by foreign tourists on the resort island. A Russian man was recently deported after posing naked from the waist down on the summit of Bali's Mount Agung.

Indonesian officials have expressed resentment over unruly behaviors involving foreign tourists, such as riding motorcycles without helmets and proper driver’s licenses.

“We roll out the red carpet for international visitors but they must obey all regulations in Indonesia,” Tourism Minister Sandiaga Uno wrote on Instagram prior to the Saraswati Temple incident.

Chief Investment Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said earlier “Bali doesn’t need unruly visitors” who will only ruin the image of the popular global tourist destination.
