2,000 Personnel Deployed for Bruno Mars' Jakarta Concerts
Jakarta. A total of 2,000 personnel will be deployed to ensure security for Bruno Mars' concerts at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), North Jakarta, on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday (Sept. 11, 13-14).
"The joint security force will consist of 2,000 personnel from the police, armed forces, and Jakarta administration," said Jakarta Metro Police’s Head of Public Relations, Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi, on Wednesday.
Security personnel will be stationed at key locations, including JIS and the hotel where Bruno Mars is staying. Traffic management around the stadium will be situational, with adjustments based on congestion levels.
Bruno Mars to Extend Jakarta Show to a Third Day
To accommodate concertgoers, public transportation operator TransJakarta has extended operating hours for two bus routes. Ayu Wardhani, head of TransJakarta's Public Relations and CSR Department, announced that Corridor 14 (Jakarta International Stadium–Senen) and Route 14A (Juanda–Jakarta International Stadium) will run until midnight during the concert dates.
"These extended hours ensure that concertgoers have access to transportation to and from the venue, even if the event ends late at night," Ayu said. She encouraged concert attendees to use public transportation to avoid parking difficulties, reduce traffic congestion, and contribute to Jakarta's net-zero emissions goals.
Additionally, TransJakarta’s night bus service (Amari), which operates from 10:00 p.m. to 05:00 a.m. across 14 main corridors, will also be available for concertgoers.
The Jakarta Transportation Agency has planned traffic rerouting from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. during the concert days and advises residents to avoid the JIS area to alleviate congestion.
Bruno Mars, born Peter Gene Hernandez on Oct. 8, 1985, in Honolulu, Hawaii, is known for hits like "Uptown Funk," "24K Magic," and "Just the Way You Are." He has won 11 Grammy Awards and remains one of the most influential pop artists of the decade.
