Polytron to Launch New Electric Motorcycles This Week
Jakarta. Homegrown electronics company Polytron plans to unveil new electric motorcycles on Wednesday, months after Polytron started mass production of its electric vehicles in the country. Many Indonesians today still prefer motorcycles over four-wheelers due to their affordability and convenience, as they can come in handy on jam-packed roads.
“These electric motorcycles represent Polytron’s commitment to present smarter, more comfortable e-vehicles that meet the demand of today’s urban mobility,” Ilman Fachrian Fadly, head of two-wheeler products at Polytron, said.
The company has already launched three motorcycles so far, including the Fox-R, which is suitable for medium-distance travel for up to 130 kilometers. The Fox-R has a maximum speed of 95 kilometers per hour. There is also the Fox-S, which the company markets as an ideal option for travel in the city.
The Fox-S has a range of around 70 kilometers and a top speed of 80 kilometers per hour. Polytron is also tapping the premium segment with the Fox-500, which has a price tag of Rp 38.1 million ($2,276).
Polytron launched its first electric cars -- the G3 and G3+ -- in May 2025. The company claimed in early June that they had amassed “tens of orders” for the electric cars. Polytron did not disclose the exact number, but there were plans to send the first batch of cars in the third week of July. The company aims to sell up to 1,500 units of G3 and G3+ this year.
