Jakarta. Building materials maker Impack Pratama Industri (IMPC) is entering the circular economy through its unit Sirkular Karya Indonesia (SKI), teaming up with Japan’s Marubeni Indonesia and DNP Indonesia to launch Indonesia’s first large-scale project to turn plastic waste into sustainable building materials.

Under the project, plastic waste generated from DNP Indonesia’s production facilities, previously processed through high-temperature incineration, will now be collected and recycled by SKI into eco-friendly building products. The resulting materials will be marketed nationwide under the brands Alduro Roof for roofing needs and Alduro Board for wall partitions.

“This initiative is a concrete step toward transforming the building materials industry into a greener one,” SKI President Director Sugiarto Romeli said in a written statement on Thursday.

“Through collaborative approaches and advanced recycling technologies, we believe that waste is not the end of the cycle, but the beginning of new value that we can create together,” he added.

Each partner brings its own strengths. SKI specializes in sustainable materials innovation and manufacturing, Marubeni contributes global business networks and ESG-focused project development experience while DNP enhances responsible industrial waste management practices.

Beyond domestic benefits, the partnership also opens export opportunities for green building products to international markets amid rising global demand for environmentally friendly materials.

As of Thursday, 3.27 PM, IMPC shares gained 30 points or 1.11 percent to Rp 2,730 per share, moving within the range of Rp 2,660 to Rp 2,770 during the day.
